01

THE CHALLENGE

Start with the tension.

Most brand collaborations stop at shared logos and novelty. Lacoste and Crocs have instant visual recognition, but their worlds appear incompatible: French tennis etiquette and tailored piqué on one side; democratic foam, maximal comfort, and internet culture on the other. The opportunity was to make that incompatibility the reason the collaboration should exist.

02 / THE ORGANIZING IDEA

Lacoste represents the match. Crocs represents everything that happens after.

03

THE DESIGN LOGIC

How the system works.

01

TURN CONFUSION INTO THE HOOK

The alligator-versus-crocodile mix-up becomes an asset. “See you later” and “After a while” give the partnership a story people already know how to repeat.

02

MAKE CONTRAST THE LUXURY

Structured tennis whites and molded foam stay visibly opposed. The campaign earns attention by refusing to smooth away the collision.

03

BUILD THE DROP LIKE A JOKE

Lacoste opens the phrase with apparel. Crocs completes it with footwear. The pause between releases creates anticipation and makes the second drop feel inevitable.

04

OWN POST-MATCH CULTURE

The collaboration shifts the category from performance to recovery: what athletes, fans, and style culture wear after the rules no longer matter.

04

THE IDENTITY

The idea becomes visible.

The campaign blends country-club restraint with irreverent product behavior. Heritage green, tennis clay, cream, and brushed silver create a premium base; oversized type, deadpan copy, foam textures, and reptile-scale details keep it from becoming polite.

05

THE VISUAL LANGUAGE

PREPPY ENOUGH TO BE WRONG.

High-fashion tennis photography is interrupted by unapologetic foam footwear. Piqué, clay, reptile scales, hard flash, and Riviera architecture create a visual world that feels credible to fashion while staying strange enough for the internet.

06

APPLICATION

MAKE THE RHYME IMPOSSIBLE NOT TO FINISH.

Wildposting, social film, retail windows, seeding kits, court signage, creator content, and two staggered commerce moments all use the same unfinished phrase. Every channel either opens the call or delivers the response.

07

EXPERIENCE

TURN RECOVERY INTO THE MAIN EVENT.

The Croslite Tennis Club makes the strategic tension physical: a functioning soft-foam court, a Riviera clubhouse, and an after-match exhibition where guests follow one strict rule: tennis whites must be worn with clogs.

01

THE FOAM COURT

A temporary green court built from repurposed soft foam becomes the instantly recognizable image of the collaboration.

02

THE AFTER-MATCH TOURNAMENT

Professional players, fashion personalities, and internet creators play short exhibitions in tailored whites and clogs.

03

THE SEEDING SUITCASE

A miniature vintage tennis case reveals the product on clay and grass textures, engineered for an immediate unboxing story.

04

THE RIVALRY FILMS

A tennis traditionalist and a chaotic cultural personality trade “later” and “a while” across short-form launch films.

Three executions translate the same strategic tension at monumental scale. Familiar tennis and footwear codes behave unexpectedly, while the composition stays restrained enough to feel premium.

The capsule is not a logo swap. Each product combines one recognizable material or behavior from each brand, allowing the strategy to remain visible even when the campaign headline disappears.

01

THE PIQUÉ CLASSIC CLOG

Matte foam takes on Lacoste's signature piqué texture, finished with scale-shaped ports and a striped webbing heel strap.

02

THE AFTER-MATCH SLIDE

A recovery silhouette with a cushioned footbed and a debossed leather-grain band for a quieter, elevated expression.

03

THE DUAL-CROCODILE POLO

Two reptiles face off across a classic white knit polo, turning the collaboration tension into a single chest detail.

04

THE COURT-TO-CARRY TOTE

Heavy canvas meets a perforated foam base, giving the capsule one object that literally joins both material worlds.

09A / LIMITED CLUB SHIRT

The collaboration
gets its uniform.

A numbered cream court shirt gives the capsule one collectible apparel hero. The front carries the restrained co-brand lockup; the back turns “After a While” into a graphic supporters can recognize from across the clubhouse.

One brought ninety years of French tennis heritage. The other brought foam, ventilation holes, and extreme comfort.

CALL IT AN ALLIGATOR. CALL IT A CROCODILE.
JUST DON'T CALL IT SUBTLE.
10 / STAGGERED RELEASE

A drop built
like a punchline.

The familiar call-and-response becomes the release structure. Lacoste opens the phrase. Crocs completes it. Anticipation lives in the pause between them.

01 / TEASE

TEASE THE RIVALRY

Green wildposting, a bouncing tennis ball, and an unresolved phrase introduce the rivalry without revealing the product.

08

THE RESULT

A system with gravity.

After a While builds a commercial campaign from a playful naming coincidence: a clear cultural position, ownable product details, a two-part release mechanism, repeatable copy, a tiered capsule, an earned-media story, and an activation that generates its own imagery. This is a self-initiated speculative advertising concept and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or commissioned by Lacoste or Crocs.
